Open Board Positions

We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization. We do not take salaries nor take wages from the Organization.

In addition to the basic responsibilities of each position, attendance in monthly meetings is also required of each Board Member.

  • Youth Engagement Coordinator

We are looking for one person to join our current coordinator (this position is shared between two people).

The ideal Youth Coordinator is someone outgoing and passionate about providing safe and affirming spaces for local LGBTQ+ youth. For an idea of the time commitment, we would like to have at least one youth event per month. Previous work with kids and an engaging personality are ideal qualities but not required.

  • Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking for one person to join our current coordinator (this position is shared between two people).

The Volunteer Coordinators oversee communicating with and recruiting volunteers for various events, but mainly our Festival in June. The coordinators also advise the board on how to best thank our volunteers and plan special events just for volunteers – but those only happen a few times a year! The ideal candidate is friendly and well-organized.

  • Fundraising Coordinator

We are looking for one person to join our current coordinator (this position is shared between two people).

The Fundraising Coordinators work with local & national businesses and organizations to hold fundraising events that help pay for all the rest of our events, and solicits donations. The ideal Fundraising Coordinator is not afraid to ask questions, send lots of emails, call people, and is professional & mindful.

  • Public Relations Coordinator

The Public Relations Coordinator will put out non-partisan press releases and statements, and cultivate a press contact list for LubbockPRIDE to send out updates on events and happenings to local news outlets.

They will also coordinate tabling and community outreach opportunities for the Organization. They may work with other Board Members to plan events and improve relations between the Board and the community.

  • Entertainment Coordinator

The Entertainment Coordinator’s biggest job is booking talent and acts for our Festival in June, managing that talent, the schedule, and behind-the-scenes on the day of the Festival. These include drag performers, musicians, comedians, karaoke, theatre troupes, and any other performers who may be interested.

From making sure songs and files are submitted and meet the standards of the show, to getting contracts signed, the Entertainment Coordinator has a big job on Festival day. They also book and manage performers for our events throughout the year, such as drag bingo and trivia.

The ideal Entertainment Coordinator has knowledge of what it’s like for performers as well as general know-how on sound, lighting, etc.

  • Admin (Web Designer)

Our Admin position primarily deals with upkeep of our website. We must ensure the public is aware of events, times, dates, scholarship openings, and so much more (because we do so much!), so having someone on top of web updates is vital.

An understanding of website builders (Squarespace, Wix, etc.), development principles, CSS, graphic design, and a familiarity with web design trends are ideal for this position.
